Library staff members support the success of our students by upholding effective collections and quality services. Our catalog includes approximately 24,000 books, 114 print serials, and thousands of electronic resources including PubMed (MEDLINE), VisionCite, Science Direct, and access to the vast collections of the Center for Research Libraries.
The Library also looks after the reference and research needs of our alumni. Visitors to our campus may be granted access to some of our Library resources with advance permission. Alumni donations are, of course, accepted.
ICO students keep their bodies healthy along with their brains! Our Fitness Center features treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair climbers, stationary bicycles, a rowing machine, and a variety of stretching and strength training equipment. We also have a full-size gym, where pickup basketball games and fitness challenges are often held.
To help students achieve and maintain optimum health, ICO employs a full-time Fitness Coordinator. This knowledgeable trainer provides one-on-one workouts and counseling, plus a variety of weekly group classes. Beginners and experts alike can enjoy spinning, yoga, strength training, and Zumba.
ICO’s 466-seat Lecture Center underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2011. It is a state-of-the-art learning facility complete with HD screens and lighting, swivel seats, and multiple tables with built-in power outlets. Classes, student organization meetings, and guest lectures are held in this useful space.
Students and faculty and staff alike enjoy meals in the Brady Hall cafeteria. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday, and a morning brunch is served on weekends. The cafeteria cooks up a variety of daily entrees, including vegetarian options. There’s also a deli station and a salad bar, where you can prepare your own creations. Residents of the RC suites are required to participate in the meal plan.
