Alumni Association Scholarship

Alumni Association Scholarship
Because there is no better feeling than helping a student succeed.

You are invited to participate in an exciting new way to help support an ICO student!

ICO’s Alumni Council has initiated an Alumni Association Scholarship to help offset the financial burden a 4th year student faces upon graduating and to acknowledge the student’s service to ICO.

Because all ICO alumni are members of the Alumni Association, and there are currently no membership dues, please consider supporting the Alumni Association Scholarship today.

Your donation is100% tax deductible.

About the Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria

  • The candidate shall be a full time student at the Illinois College of Optometry and enrolled in his/her 4th year.
  • The candidate shall demonstrate financial need and be in good academic standing.
  • The candidate shall complete a 500 word essay describing his/her past and present role serving ICO as a student as well as plans to further that service as an alumnus.

Selection Process

One recipient will be selected per year.  However, if additional funds are available, the Alumni Council reserves the right to consider awarding more than one scholarship in any given year.  A Scholarship and Awards Committee shall determine the top three candidates based on the above criteria.  The essays of those top candidates will be forwarded to the Alumni Council members for final selection.  The scholarship will be presented at the Capstone Program held during graduation week each May.
