It is never too early to begin exploring possible career paths and planning for your time in optometry school!

ICO offers a graduate-level program leading to the Doctor of Optometry degree. Prior to beginning optometry school, most students have completed a bachelor's degree. While it is possible to enter ICO without a degree, it is required that you successfully complete at least 90 semester credit hours (135 quarter hours) of coursework at an accredited undergraduate institution. This is usually equivalent to 3 years of undergraduate coursework. At least one full year of this coursework should be completed at a four-year college or university, although more is recommended.
