| Focus on Your Future Summer Program |
The Focus on Your Future Summer Program was a huge success! We had twenty students from around the United States participate in our weeklong program to learn more about optometry and ICO. The program was made possible in part by a grant from the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry.
The weeklong program was filled with seminars on a variety of topics, such as:
Admissions 101
Importance of Diversity in Optometry
Professionalism as a Student and Practitioner
New Technology in the Profession
Study Skills/Time Management
Financial Matters
OAT Test Prep
Participants also had the opportunity to interact with ICO staff, faculty, students, and alumni throughout the week. From the Welcome Reception to the ICO Student Panel, participants heard the many different routes that our alumni and current students took on their journey to optometry.
