Education happens both in and out of the classroom, and a successful experience at the Illinois College of Optometry includes involvement in campus life. ICO provides students with a selection of more than 20 diverse clubs and organizations, leadership development opportunities, community service projects and mission trips, and special events like the Eyeball, a formal, and ICOlympics, a day-long interclass competition. By offering students rich experiences beyond the intensive and rigorous academic program, ICO provides a balanced approach to enhance the capacity of its students and ultimately make them better optometrists.

ICO also provides students with a unique housing option in the form of the Residential Complex, an onsite cafeteria and fitness center, and counseling for academic and personal issues. And of course, living in Chicago, students have convenient access to all of the city’s wonderful attractions–from professional sports and rousing entertainment to world-class dining and enticing shopping.
