Why ICO?

I have been a faculty member for the College for over 30 years, currently serving as the Associate Dean for Education. I encourage you to choose ICO because you are choosing a school to prepare you to be a qualified optometrist and serve your future patients. At ICO, we provide you not only early exposure to patient care, but also quality experiences that prepare you best to begin your career. You have an opportunity to select a college of optometry with a long tradition of excellence, with a mission to provide highly qualified clinical optometrists, through excellence in patient care education.

After completing a residency in primary care at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Dr. Baker joined the faculty of the Illinois College of Optometry in 1985. He has held various roles at the college including Chief of a Primary Care Module, Primary Care Residency Coordinator, Director of Residency Programs and Chairperson for Clinical Education. In his current role as Associate Dean for Education, he works to provide students the best clinical experience possible during each stage of their didactic and clinical education.
