Yi Pang, OD, PhD

Dr. Pang joined the ICO faculty in 2005. She is an attending optometrist in the Pediatric and Binocular Vision service at the Illinois Eye Institute. Besides active teaching in clinic, classroom and laboratory, Dr. Pang also is very engaged in research. She is participating in several NIH-funded multi-center studies and other research projects. She has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed papers and many peer- reviewed abstracts. In addition, Dr. Pang is in the editorial boards of four prestigious journals and is an active scientific referee for thirteen major journals. Dr. Pang is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served in many professional organizations, including ASCO International Optometric Education Committee, ASCO Optometry Diversity and Cultural Competency Committee, and World Council of Optometry.

When I came to ICO for a job interview, I loved this institution right away, and I still love it seven years later. Patient care at ICO is outstanding. My passion is in clinical teaching and clinical research, both need good patient care. If students are looking for a good clinic experience and want to be good clinicians, ICO is your place!
