Why ICO?

ICO and the Illinois Eye Institute provide students with a strong optometric education and prepare them to become confident, well-rounded clinicians. Although I did not attend ICO as a student, my recent residency has given me the opportunity to see how dedicated the faculty are to supporting each student. I have also seen the meaningful impact ICO has on the Chicago community and knew I wanted to continue being part of an institution that is committed to both its students and patients.

Biography

Dr. Okano completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Upon completion of his Doctor of Optometry degree at Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science at University of California, Berkeley, he completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at ICO. Dr. Okan is a clinical attending for second, third, and fourth year students in the primary care clinic of the Illinois Eye Institute.
